Next week will be our celebration of NAIDOC Week (which is held early in July in the school holidays).
On Monday morning, to begin NAIDOC Week, a Aboriginal Elder, Tim, will perform a Smoking Ceremony and Acknowledgement of Country for all of the students in our school. This will be at 9.00am and parents are very welcome to watch. Tim will then run 45 minute cultural groups for each grade during the day. During these groups, students will be shown different tools and artefacts, and hear Dreaming stories and songs.
In the afternoon we will then have a whole school NAIDOC liturgy at 1.50pm.
A big thank you to our Aboriginal Education Teacher, Mrs Poulton, for organising these activities.
